At Kilim, your privacy is a priority. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service ("Kilim").

We collect information to provide a personalized, AI-assisted experience.

1.1 Personal Data You Provide

  • Account Information: When you sign up via Firebase Authentication, we store your unique Firebase UID and, optionally, your email address.
  • AI Interactions: Content you provide during chats with the AI assistant and facts you explicitly state for your "User Memory."

1.2 Data Generated Through Use

  • Productivity Data: Information about your Patterns, Threads, Routines, and Sessions.
  • AI-Derived Data: Markdown summaries generated by our AI service and facts inferred from your behavior for your "User Memory."
  • Usage Logs: Events related to how you interact with features (Feature Events, Thread Events).

1.3 Device and Technical Information

  • Device Identifiers: FCM tokens for notifications and your device platform (Android, iOS, Web).
  • Timezone: Collected to provide timely notifications and accurate scheduling.

1.4 Payment Information

  • Billing: Payments are processed through Stripe. We store Stripe customer and subscription IDs but do not store your credit card numbers on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data for the following purposes:

  • Service Delivery: To manage your account, productivity data, and subscriptions.
  • AI Features: To provide personalized summaries, suggest routines, and maintain a rolling AI conversation context.
  • Notifications: To send reminders and streak nudges via FCM.
  • Analytics: To improve Kilim's features and understand usage patterns.
  • Compliance: To verify subscriptions and prevent unauthorized access.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we process your personal data under the following legal bases:

  • Contractual Necessity: To provide the services you requested.
  • Legitimate Interests: To improve our AI models and provide personalized suggestions.
  • Consent: For optional features where you have explicitly provided consent.

4. Data Sharing

We share your data with trusted third parties only as necessary:

  • Google Cloud Platform & Firebase: For infrastructure, database hosting, authentication, and notifications.
  • Google Gemini API: To process your productivity data for summaries and AI assistance.
  • Stripe: To process payments and manage subscriptions.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data.
